What is The Job Shop?
The Job Shop is the only one of its kind.

Since 2001 The Job Shop has worked with over 600 people to support them in getting back to work.

The program is flexible enough to provide the type of support needed to find the right job in today's world of work in Vancouver and beyond.

Once you are accepted into The Job Shop we commit to working with you for up to 10 weeks.

In return we expect you to attend every day and focus on finding leads, applying for jobs and facing what you may need to change.

How is The Job Shop different from other programs?
We expect daily attendance, just like every job out there.

This helps get you back into a daily routine.

We offer one-to-one counsellor support and encouragement.

You get support from the other participants in The Job Shop.

We remind you of the skills you need to find leads and apply for jobs and, if needed, we will help you refresh those skills.

We believe mutual respect is essential to make changes, and we will be honest about the changes we see are needed.

We teach you how to decide which jobs you should be applying for, and why this decision makes such a difference to a successful job search.

We can also help with some travel costs, coffee, sometimes interview clothes and other small supports which can make all the difference.

The next job you have won't be your last. Our ambition for you is to find a job where you decide when you make the next move.
